Smiling For the Camera
At some point during the last couple of years, Brayden lost his ability to smile on cue. Now when we ask him to smile for the camera, we get something that turns out like this:
If we take enough pictures, we eventually get a somewhat normal smile:

Relaxing in the Sun
We just can't get enough of the warm, sunny weather! I wish it would stay forever. We've had so much fun relaxing in the backyard together as a family. Now we just need the nice weather to stay!
A Week with Grandma & Grandpa Macnab
Grandma and Grandpa came to stay with us for a little over a week while I recovered from surgery. Luckily the weather held out for most of their time here, so they didn't have to be cooped up inside with 2 crazy kids. Since I wasn't up and about, I didn't get many pictures of their visit. Here is one of my favorites of my mom hanging out with my kids...
We tried a new sleeping arrangement this time. Like last time, Grandma & Grandpa slept in Brayden's queen size bed. However, instead of having Brayden sleep in our walk-in closet, we set up the kid's tent in the office/playroom for him to sleep in. Then we bought cheap temporary shades at Target to cover the glass doors. Then we hung a blanket over the window so the room would be super dark. Not only did Brayden sleep great in the tent, but the kids also had fun playing in the tent during the day. I guess we don't need a bigger house, after all!
For the first time since Brayden was a newborn, he actually fell asleep while playing. I have always wished that our kids could fall asleep somewhere other than their beds so that we didn't always have to worry about being home in time for naps. Grandma & Grandpa must have really worn him out!
Since we built our house 4 1/2 years ago, we've had 2 squirrels come and gather food from the 2 large trees in our backyard...almost every day! When my parents gave us a bird feeder last year, we had no idea that the squirrels were going to steal all of the bird seed. I still don't understand how they are able to climb up the pole (we have actually seen them do that!). Last night we were hanging out in the yard with the kids and the squirrels were busy stealing all of the birdseed...they weren't even scared of us. Brayden even named one of the squirrels "Tumbala". Now I'm a bit worried that if the kids get too close to the bird feeder, the squirrels will attack them!
Katrina and her son Lucas came over on Monday to keep us company (I can't lift the kids for 2 weeks so we are stuck at home). The weather held out in the morning so we could play outside. I had bought the kids moonsand for Easter, but it was so messy that I refused to let them play with it inside. Well, it wasn't a total waste of money because the kids have been playing with it outside almost every day!
