Music!

Tinkertoy Music!
Last night I went out with a friend while Chris stayed home with the kids. Chris and the kids made a guitar and microphone with the tinkertoys! How cute!!! Fortunately for me, Chris remembered to take pictures!

More Music!
Last weekend Sienna made some music of her own. It all started when I cleaned out the office closet and found Brayden's Santa hat (yes, it is possible to lose something in a closet in less than 2 months!). Sienna couldn't get enough of the hat...she would not let us take it off! It must have inspired her because she played music for us all night. I couldn't decide which pictures to post, so I'm posting them all...

Silly Shirts, Basketballs & Hockey Sticks!

Sienna's Silly Shirt
Sienna stills wants to do everything that Brayden does. Now that Brayden is potty trained, he has also learned to dress & undress himself (yea!). The other day I went into the office and found Sienna with half of her shirt off! I thought it was too funny how she ended up with her head out of the shirt, but not her arms. She thought she was pretty funny, too!

Basketballs & Hockey Sticks
We went to our friend, Anne's, school concert a couple of weeks ago. Amazingly enough, Brayden and Sienna sat mostly still for about an hour! After the concert, we headed to the gym so the kids could run around for awhile. The pictures aren't that great because I only had our extremely old canon powershot camera in my purse. But, at least the pictures are better than nothing!
Sienna had fun playing with the basketball. This isn't the cutest picture, but I couldn't believe how tall Sienna looked holding the big ball. Where did my baby go?
Anne, Brayden & Sienna running around and acting crazy!
Brayden found a hockey stick that had been left out.
Brayden & Anne "sharing" the hockey stick. I wish Brayden would smile for the camera like Anne does!

Valentine's Day Fun!

Grandma & Grandpa Macnab and Great Grandma Hewitt sent the kids Valentine's Day gifts in the mail. We tortured the kids by leaving the presents on the kitchen counter for THREE full days before they were allowed to open them. On Valentine's Day morning, we decided that the kids had been tortured long enough, and we let them open their presents before breakfast.

When Brayden opened one of his cards, money fell out (you can see it just laying there on the floor)! I would have thought that as soon as Brayden saw the money, he would have tossed the card aside. However, Brayden was so excited about getting a Kung Fu Panda card that he totally ignored the money!
Sienna, on the other hand, was very excited to get money in her card. She loves money so much that she even tried to swipe Brayden's 10 bucks!

They also got some new aquadoodles!
A few days later, we took the kids to Toys R Us so that they could spend their money. Brayden picked out a Wooden Pizza set and I helped Sienna pick out something fun for all of us...Tinkertoys! Brayden wasn't too excited about the Tinkertoys while we were at the store, but he has played with them almost non-stop since we got them 3 days ago.
Brayden's favorite things to make are "cookies", flowers, and the sun. I just love seeing his little imagination at work!

Floating Swimsuits!

While we were at Toys R Us, we walked by these swimsuits with built in floation devices. I have always thought that these looked like a good idea...much easier than a life jacket that floats up above their heads in the water. Sienna usually hates to try things on, but she was so excited about these swimming suits that we could barely get her out of "them" (see below)! Next month we are meeting my parents in Indio, so we'll see just how good these suits work in a swimming pool. Until then, they'll just have to wear them around the house! The minute Brayden was out of his suit, Sienna was all over it. Hopefully there won't be any fights over who gets to wear what suit. ;)

Best Buddies!

The kids played together ALL day on Wednesday. Maybe it was just because they were sick again and stuck at home again! Sienna is going to be so lonely when Brayden goes to preschool next year. I'm a little worried that it will actually be more work for me to be alone with Sienna without Brayden home to entertain her!

The Diaper Change
I was in the kitchen cleaning counters when I heard Brayden say "I'm going to change your diaper, Sienna". I thought this was probably going to be picture worthy, so I grabbed the camera and headed to the office. I was amazed that Brayden already had most of the diaper changing supplies out, and Sienna was actually laying on the changing pad! Sienna barely lets us change her, but she lays right down for Brayden!
Brayden really thought he was going to change her diaper...if only he could! Of course, I took over once he started taking her pajama pants off. How funny is that?
The Sit 'N Spin
Later in the day, Brayden and Sienna both climbed aboard the sit 'n spin and went around and around together...giggling the whole time.

Spider-Bear
Grandma Boley promised Brayden a special toy when he was potty trained. To our surprise, exactly 3 weeks after his first time sitting on the potty, he was 100% potty trained! He still wears a diaper at night, but I think he's still a little young to go all night without going potty. And, I certainly don't want him waking us up every time he has to go. So, for now I think that we'll keep the diapers at night!

Chris and I went to dinner on Sunday night and Grandma & Grandpa Boley took the kids to Build-A-Bear for Brayden's special toy. They each got to pick out a bear, watch it get stuffed, and then pick out the bear's heart to place inside before being sewn up. After the bears were done, Brayden picked this cool Spider-Bear outfit for his bear. How cute!
Brayden thinks his bear is a stunt-bear!
Sienna's bear is called Honey-Bear!
After Brayden threw Spider-Bear (again)...
Sienna decided Honey-Bear was a stunt-bear, too!

Family Time

Well, the kids have been sick for most of 2009, so we haven't gotten out to do anything extremely fun. Hopefully the month of March will bring sunnier, warmer weather, less colds, and more fun! Here are a few random pictures from the last couple of weeks.

Yogurt
Sienna loves to feed herself. Normally the mess would drive me bonkers, but Brayden pretty much refused to feed himself with a spoon until the age of 3, so I welcome any mess she makes, as long as she is feeding herself. I should add that Brayden could feed himself, he just didn't want to. And, he knew how to sucker us in and get us to do all of the work for him! Sienna doesn't usually get this messy anymore, so I thought it was kinda cute seeing her face covered in yogurt!
Where's Brayden & Sienna???
Brayden and Sienna are at that age where they think if they can't see you, you can't see them! They were both trying to hide in the cars sofa...unfortunately, they are just a tad too big!

After they got tired of hiding from me, they settled down to read books together. They really are best buddies...I don't know any other siblings that get along so well. I feel extremely fortunate and pray that they continue to be so close.

Bedtime Stories
Now that we have a big bed in Brayden's room, we thought it would be fun to read stories as a family (Chris and I usually take turns putting them each to bed). Sienna did pretty good the first night (below), but the next night she wanted to go back to reading books in her own room. I guess I should just be thankful that she doesn't have as big of a blanket phobia as she used to. Just seeing her tucked in bed with Chris and Brayden is a huge accomplishment...she used to scream as soon as we tried to put a blanket on her! I guess until she learns that a blanket would keep her warm at night, we'll have to continue putting her in 2 layers of pajamas every night!
Painting
Last night Chris broke out the paint for the first time in who knows how long. I thought he was crazy...it is a lot of work keeping Sienna from painting everything in sight (I get exhausted painting with the kids once a week at art class)! I think the kids pretty much wore Chris out after about 15-20 minutes, so I'm not sure he'll be suggesting that they paint again any time soon. But, at least we have several beautiful pictures that they painted together.

Fun with books...and more!!!

It seems that the only time I remember to take a picture these days, is when they are reading. Maybe that's because it is the only time they are sitting still!

Grandma & Grandpa Macnab
A couple of weeks ago my parents came to stay with us. It was the first time they have been able to stay with us since we lost our guest room when Sienna was born (19 months ago). Now that Brayden has a queen size bed, they stayed in his room and he slept in a sleeping bag in our closet. Except for both kids having colds, the setup worked out great! Hopefully when Sienna gets a bit older (& less crazy), Brayden can sleep on the floor in her room. Since the kids were sick during Grandma & Grandpa's visit, we didn't get to go out and do anything fun. The kids didn't seem to mind...they were just excited to see Grandma & Grandpa again. Grandma read them book after book after book...

More Reading!
Yesterday morning, Brayden plopped down on the floor in front of the laundry room to read his book (no idea why...it didn't look very comfortable!). As soon as Sienna saw him reading books, she grabbed a book and plopped down right next to him. I never get tired of seeing them hang out together...I hope they will always be such good friends!
Friends
Friday night we had our friends, Noel & Angela, over to play games on the Wii. Brayden absolutely loves Noel...they usually spend the entire night roughhousing together. At one point they took a break (kind of), so I took the opportunity to snap a cute picture!
