Sienna's New Sink!

I'd have to say that Sienna's favorite 3 birthday presents are: the toy sink, the apron & the Ariel sunglasses. The sink is supposed to be an outside toy. If the warm weather would ever come back, they could actually play with it outside. Until then, we'll just have to assume that the pump in the faucet actually works and will pump water when turned on. As for the apron, I think she wore it for 4 days straight, except when we had to take it off to sleep, which she wasn't too happy about. And, her outfit would not be complete without the Ariel sunglasses on top of her head. She came up with that idea all on her own. She always asks to wear them like a "hat".

Sienna having fun pretending to fill a cup up with water.
Sienna also makes sound effects while filling up the water. She definitely learned that from Brayden. Too funny!

She was nice enough to share her water with me...so sweet!

Sienna's 2nd Birthday - Celebration #3!

We had Sienna's party at Gymboree this year. I had never been to a party at Gymboree before, but we've been going to gym, art, and music classes since Brayden was 14 months old. Sienna hasn't been in the gym for at least a year, so I had no idea if she was going to have any fun. As it turns out, Sienna had SO MUCH FUN! She was smiling the entire time and running around with the big boys (aka Brayden & Wyatt)! Unfortunately, our camera didn't flash much since the building has so many windows and a lot of the pictures are either blurry or have poor color quality. UGH!

Sienna was all smiles from the moment we walked in the door! Okay, well, maybe she was a little shy for all of 60 seconds! We arrived before everyone else, but Sienna entertained herself by dancing around the lobby....

And Brayden practiced his Kung-Fu moves!
The best part was that there were group activities for the kids to participate in, it wasn't just a free-for-all!. When Brayden used to do gym class, he rarely participated in the group activies...he was always as far away from the other kids as he could get, doing his own thing. I was pleasantly surprised that BOTH kids enjoyed the activities at Sienna's party. Sienna had so much fun that I plan to switch to gym class after Brayden starts preschool in the fall.

Sienna, Brayden & Wyatt hiding in the fort!
Sienna hanging out with her best girlfriends...Avery and Maggie Jane! Maggie is 2 weeks older than Sienna and Avery is 2 weeks younger than Sienna...how fun! Another interesting piece of information is that Maggie's mom and I share the same name: Shelley Lynn (although, she spells hers Shelly Lynn).
Sienna had a blast chasing Wyatt around the gym!
Of course, you can't play chase without someone doing a face plant!
Then Brayden almost got taken out when he ran right in front of the rolling cylinder...good thing he's quick!
Sienna had seen Brayden pulling Wyatt around on this platform earlier. She must have thought it looked like fun because she plopped down, hoping that someone would come pull her around!

Group photo!!!
Time for the "freeze dance"! This used to be my favorite part of Gymboree Gym class!
During the last few months, Sienna has really gotten into following instructions in music class. She'll copy everything that the instructor does. She did great following the instructions during her first freeze dance, too!
Time for cake!
Sienna getting ready to blow out her candles.
Less than 3 hours after I finished decorating the cake, there was nothing left to show of my hard work! :(
Sienna's favorite part...presents!
Apparently it's EVERYONE'S favorite part...Sienna had LOTS of help opening her gifts. haha!
Sienna got a birthday hug and kiss from her 2nd cousin, Canon!
Sienna got the cutest little apron from her friend Maggie Jane. Sienna refused to take it off for at least 4 or 5 days. Although, we did manage to get it off of her during naps and at bedtime...but, it was quite the struggle!

Cheer Bear!

For Sienna's 2nd birthday, I made her a Cheer Bear cake. This was my 3rd cake and the 3rd time that I said I would never make another one! We'll just have to wait and see what I decide to do for Brayden's birthday in October. ;) The kids helped me make the frosting and then watched me make all of the different frosting colors. Of course, Brayden was paying more attention to the movie on tv (Aladdin) than he was the frosting!
Eventually we talked both kids into going to watch the movie in the living room. They ended up sitting next to each other on the ottoman...these little moments are just too precious not to share!

Putting the finishing touches on the cake...FINALLY! I finished the cake at 2pm and Sienna's party started at 4pm (we had to leave at 3:15). Talk about cutting it close!
The finished product!

Sienna's 2nd Birthday - Celebration #2!

The night of Sienna's birthday, we invited Grandma & Grandpa Boley over for dinner, cupcakes and presents! Brayden and Sienna got to decorate & eat their 2nd cupcakes of the day. Sienna also got to blow out her 2nd set of candles. I still can't believe how good she did blowing out her candles, even though her technique was a bit unusual!

I was also surprised at how much Sienna enjoyed eating her 2 cupcakes. She usually takes after me and passes on sweets. But, on her birthday, she just couldn't get enough sugar! She started out using her fingers to eat the frosting off of the cupcake...
But, she eventually gave up using her fingers! haha!
Yum!
Goofing off with Grandma Boley...
Sienna & Grandma Boley
When Chris got home from work, we let Sienna open one present. Brayden was so good...he just watched her open it.
New and improved paper dolls...magnetic dolls!

After dinner, Sienna opened the rest of the presents that we bought for her. As you can tell by Brayden's expression, he was SO excited to see what she got!
Of course, he got a little too excited and kept pulling Sienna's presents out of the bag before she had a chance to!
Over and over again!
Last year we bought Sienna a kitchen for her birthday and this year we bought her a blender, toaster & mixer to match! We also found a Melissa & Dough cookie sheet with Velcro cookies. The kids LOVE to cook & pretend to eat food. Now, how can we get them to eat real food?!?!
I took these pictures of Chris and Sienna on her birthday. She loves to be rocked while we sing to her. I couldn't believe how big she looked in Chris' arms! She is growing up way too fast!
