What is this stuff???

Well, it turns out that it was time to see what Sienna would do with a little rice cereal. Sienna hasn't been sleeping through the night for the last few months, due to various reasons and recently started needing a bottle in the middle of the night. She's been eating a crazy amount of milk...36 oz on Sunday and 39 oz on Monday!

The Rice Cereal: It took awhile for her to start eating the rice cereal but she eventually got the hang of it and ate the whole bowl!

Sienna opened right up but wasn't quite sure what to think once she tasted it.
She quickly decided that she did not want this "stuff" in her mouth and spit it right out!
Sienna really wanted to help with the spoon so I gave her one of her own to play with.
She was amazingly accurate getting the spoon to her mouth!

Happy 5 Month Birthday, Sienna!

Happy 5 Month Birthday, Sienna! I cannot believe that my baby is already 5 months old. Not too much longer until we'll start her on solid foods!!!

Sienna's first tooth broke through on Monday, November 5th...just 5 days short of her 5 month birthday. Brayden had 3 teeth by 5 months and 6 teeth by 6 months so she has quite a bit of catching up to do. Sienna has been continuing to get fussier so I'm guessing that she'll have more teeth popping through any day.

Sienna weighs 16.2 pounds (~78th %) and is wearing mostly 9 month clothes!

We also weighed Brayden tonight and he finally made it to 28.0 pounds, but only with his clothes on. He's only gained 7 pounds since he was 9 months old!!!

NEW BATTERIES!

Every time a toy stops working, Brayden says "NEW BATTERIES"! When his "Learn Through Music" toy stopped working yesterday, he pulled up a chair (his Sit 'n Spin), broke out his Black & Decker screwdriver and got busy changing the batteries. The funniest part was that he was actually trying to unscrew the right screws!

The Portland Children's Museum

Since Chris had the day off from work, we took the kids to the children's museum. About 10 minutes after we arrived the storm knocked out the power. There was still enough light from the emergency generators that they didn't close, but they did close Brayden's favorite area, the WATER ROOM! Apparently the emergency generators don't keep the water pumping. Luckily we started off in that room so we did get a few minutes in there to play. The museum was extremely busy and it wasn't nearly as much fun with the water room off limits. Luckily we get to come back again for free!

THE WATER ROOM:

THE BIG BLUE TUNNEL: Brayden doesn't usually like to play in tunnels with other kids. At Gymboree he gets pretty scared if another child starts crawling through the tunnel with him (he definitely doesn't like his personal space to be invaded). However, today he played in the tunnel at the museum with all of the other kids! YEA!

THE MAGNET ROOM: Brayden absolutely loves to play with magnets! Every time we go to someone's house that has magnets on their refrigerator, he is instantly drawn to them and will spend the entire time playing in the kitchen.

VIDEO: Sienna Jumpin' in her Jumparoo!

Sienna absolutely loves her Jumparoo...and her big brother! I finally remembered to take some video to share. You can see in the first video just how much she loves Brayden...she giggles every time he walks by! She was too busy giggling to do much jumping so video #2 is of Sienna jumping. Enjoy!

Where's That Lip?

Sienna found a new teether....her bottom lip! Brayden had 3 teeth by the time he turned 5 months. In 8 days she'll be 5 months and she doesn't have even 1 tooth. Until one pops through, I'm guessing we won't be seeing much of her lip!

Sienna has quite a bit of arm strength now. She can roll both directions but hasn't quite perfected rolling from tummy to back yet.

BIG Smiles!

When Sienna isn't busy chewing on her lip, she's always full of BIG smiles. I couldn't help but share these smiley pictures! :)

Sittin' on the Sit 'N Spin

I mentioned in an earlier post that Brayden likes to sit on his Sit 'N Spin like it is a bar stool...

Brayden decided to read a book at the table.
When Brayden saw Sienna sitting in her Bumbo chair, he grabbed his Sit 'N Spin and joined her (after stealing her teething toy)!
Brayden feels as though he needs to chew on all of Sienna's toys...he must be feeling left out that he's not teething anymore!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

This was Brayden's THIRD halloween, but this was only his first time trick-or-treating! His first Halloween he was only 12 days old and last year I had morning sickness (all day sickness). We went trick-or-treating with about 5 families from the neighborhood...it was so much fun! Brayden only said "trick-or-treat" once, but he did say "tank you" every time. Such a sweet boy!

I was not very creative with Brayden's costume...he was a monkey! Even though it wasn't a creative costume, everyone thought he was too cute!
Sienna's
"waving" for the camera! Sienna was an Angel for Halloween. Well, at least for a few minutes...
Before we left the house we put her in her super cute OSU outfit that was much warmer for our trip outside.
Brayden asked to hold Sienna for the first time tonight...it was so sweet!

TONS of Random Pictures of Brayden & Sienna!

I take lots of random pictures every day and haven't found the time to post them...so, here they ALL are! ;)

The other day Sienna decided that she no longer needed my help with the bottle!

Of course, she needed a little help from mommy when the bottle was full!
Brayden tries to imitate everything that Sienna does. Sienna scooted, rolled and who knows what else right out of her play gym and onto the carpet. The next thing we knew, Brayden was on the floor mimicking Sienna!

Brayden got a Sit 'N Spin for his birthday. He's getting pretty good at spinning all by himself. Of course, his favorite things to do are to stand on it (which he falls down every time) and to sit on the yellow handle like a bar stool!

Brayden being silly! This picture reminds me of all the funny faces he made for the camera when he was "younger". ;) Here are some pictures from his old blogspot when he was 13 months old: Brayden
Chris & I bought Brayden a Black & Decker Tool Bench for his birthday. He absolutely loves playing with all of the power tools! Grandpa Macnab will have to show Brayden how to use real tools when he gets older...much older!
Brayden has fun cutting wood with his saw!

Brayden loves to jump on the furniture. Normally we don't let him do this, but sometimes he is just too entertaining to stop him!
We decided it was time to introduce Sienna to Brayden's old Jumperoo! After only 24 hours Sienna is pretty close to jumping on her own. Until then, Brayden is always there to help her jump!
Before we took our trip to Bend, we decided to test out the travel tent that we bought for Sienna to sleep in. Brayden had a great time playing with his toys in the tent...he was in there all night! Unfortunately Sienna didn't like it quite as much...she started screaming as soon as we put her in it.

Brayden stacked all of his cubes while I was feeding Sienna. I was so impressed that he knew to center the cubes on top of each other when they started to wobble. I think he's going to be smarter than me in a few months...if he isn't already!

Brayden loves to give and get kisses! He even likes to give the cats kisses. However, the cats aren't quite sure about Brayden's kisses...they usually take off running before his lips make contact. This time Stella was pretty brave and stayed on my lap!

Pump It Up!

I can't believe it has taken me so long to post Brayden's birthday pictures! We all had a great time at Pump It Up. Even the grandparents had a great time jumping, bouncing, and climbing with Brayden!

After 1.5 hours of jumping, Brayden was still not ready to stop. Once we went into the "Party Room", he kept trying to open the door to go back into the inflatable room!

Daddy, Grandma Boley, and I all had fun helping Brayden climb through the obstacle course.

Grandma and Grandpa Macnab had lots of fun jumping and bouncing with Brayden!
Grandma Boley jumping with Brayden!

Here we all are after 1.5 hours of jumping!

In the party room, Brayden got to sit in the BIG birthday chair!

Brayden actually spent quite a bit of time checking out the drinking fountain...again (he also played with the drinking fountain at the last birthday party we went to at Pump It Up). He had so much fun "playing" in the drinking fountain that Grandma Boley had to give him one of his birthday presents early...a shirt! His other shirt was completely soaked with water!
Brayden did a great job of blowing out his candle! Ok, maybe he had a little help from Daddy!
Brayden might have needed help with the candle, but he certainly didn't need any help eating his cake...he ate the WHOLE piece all by himself...with a BIG fork!
After we left Pump It Up, we had our families over for presents and dinner.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Brayden!!!

Brayden turned TWO on Friday!!! We had a birthday party at playgroup on Friday morning and then both sets of grandparents stopped by. On Saturday we had a fun party at Pump It Up with his friends. I'll post party pictures later. :)

Today we took both kids in for their shots...ouch! I couldn't believe how great Brayden did. I wish Sienna had been such a trooper! Luckily they both seem fine now. WHEW!

Brayden's 2 Year measurements:
Weight: 27 lbs 8.8 oz (47th %)
Height: 36" (90th %)
Head: 47.5 (20th %) - he sure doesn't take after me because I have a HUGE head! ;)

Brayden's 18 Month Measurements:
Weight: 24 lbs 0 oz (25th %)
Height: 33.5" (80th %)
Head: 46.5 cm (25th %)

Happy 4 Month Birthday, Sienna!

Sienna had her 4 month doctor's appointment yesterday. She didn't get her shots because she has a virus and the doctor wanted to wait. Now Sienna and Brayden will get their shots at Brayden's 2 year appt next Monday! YIKES! Anyone want to babysit that day???? ;)

Sienna is still so happy...always smiling and giggling. She is also starting to play with her toys a lot. She will probably get her first tooth soon because she is chewing on everything in sight!

Sienna is still growing like crazy:
Weight: 14 lbs 12.7 oz (75th %)
Height: 25 1/4" (85th %)
Head: 41.7 cm (75th %)

For comparison, here are her 2 month measurements:
Weight: 11 lbs 13 oz (75th %)
Height: 23" (75th %)
Head: 39.4 cm (50th %)

Sienna's 1st Trip to Bend!

We took the kids to see Grandma & Grandpa Macnab...it was Sienna's first overnight trip! It turns out that Sienna had a virus and was not happy to be away from home. She started screaming every time we tried to put her down. We weren't sure what exactly was wrong with her (she didn't appear sick at the time) so we took her to the Bend Memorial Clinic. Her ears, throat, and lungs were all clear so there was nothing they could do for her. Luckily she started to feel more at home because she stopped screaming the day after we arrived. Whew!

Unfortunately, this is the only picture we have of Sienna on her first trip...whoops! Although, I think Grandma & Grandpa took some pictures of her.

Grandma bought Brayden a water color book.
He made 3 beautiful pictures that are hanging up in our kitchen. I think Brayden is going to be an artist. When we are at home he is always asking for his markers so he can "make pretty pictures".

We also took Brayden to a park. He had so much fun going down the slides!
Brayden enjoys anything that spins or turns!
He could even rock on the zebra all by himself...when did he grow up???

He also did a great job of going up the big steps!
